Once you have an account on the geo-facility you can log in to either gateway machine meinesz.mit.edu or vening.mit.edu using ssh. Login via ssh is the only mechanism available for accessing the geo-facility from a remote machine. Within the geo-cluster rsh is available and no passwords are required. Once you have logged in to the geo-facility you can use ssh or rsh to access a compute cluster machine and compile and run programs. The PBS queuing system should nearly always be used for any programs that run on the geo-cluster nodes for more than a minute.
