The geo-cluster facility consists of a set of compute and storage machines on a private network. The system is accessed through two head nodes, meinesz.mit.edu and vening.mit.edu. To start using the geo-cluster you must have an account on the geo-facility. The geo-facility consists of two integrated parts, a workstation group and the geo-cluster. Mass storage is shared between the workstation group and cluster. Raid storage devices (~5TB) are physically attached to the facility server (chandler.mit.edu), and the two head nodes (meinesz.mit.edu and vening.mit.edu). This storage is exported as directories /home /data1 /data2 /data30 /raid1 /raid2 /raid3 to all machines in the geo-cluster and workstation group.
